At Hilltop Blooms and Beef we take great pride in our grass-fed, grass-finished Red Devon beef. We process only a few of our cattle each year and are grateful for our small group of loyal customers who value and support our family-run farm operation.
Our beef is sustainably raised, grass-fed and grass-finished, from the gourmet Red Devon breed. It is processed and packaged at either Blue Ridge Meats or Wagner Meats.

Why Grass-Fed/Grass-finished
At Hilltop Blooms & Beef, we raise the highest quality gourmet Red Devon breed that we take to get processed a highly reputed Abattoir in Blue Ridge, Virginia.
- There is no grain in our grass-fed operation
- There are no GMOs, hormones, or medicated feeds in our operation
- Grass-fed and finished cattle can take up to twice as long to finish compared to cattle that are fed grass and finished on grain
All cattle are fed grass at some point in their life cycle, so a cow that has been fed grain for 3/4 of its life and then given some time on grass can be called grass-fed. That said grass fed isn't a strictly enforced term. We have no grain, Skittles, or sugars/fatteners in our program - only natural forages, which we believe results in a much healthier, higher quality meat.
There is a definite difference between grain-fed beef and grass-fed, and the health benefits and other benefits are undeniable in comparing them!
